Yulin Yuan

I am a multi-disciplinary artist, born in China and immigrated to South Africa with my family at a young age. I obtained my BFA at the University of Cape Town, and now I’m an MFA candidate at James Madison University in the United States. The majority of my work is juxtaposing imagery through methods such as collage, video, and photography. I find interest in building narratives and exploring the subject of intersectional identity through my relationship with my family, culture, and lineage. My work consists of my views of modern China and exploration in the community and relationships within first-generation immigrant households.
